PLANNED GIVING -THANKYOU. A huge Thank You to the positive response for taking part in our ‘Planned Giving’ appeal last weekend. If you are new to the parish, or missed signing a promise card last weekend, and would like a box of donation envelopes, or to donate to the parish by standing order (bankers order) or wish to Gift Aid, please complete a promise card at the back of the Church today and post it through our Presbytery letterbox.

POPE FRANCIS has called the whole Church to observe an Extraordinary Month of Mission this October, asking us all to reflect upon bringing the Gospel to those who have not yet heard it and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.  World Mission Sunday takes place next Sunday 20th October. We will have a visiting Priest Fr Vincent Oates to talk about MISSIO.  Please support Missio in their work.

MASS FOR CANONISATION of Blessed John Henry Newman & display of relic. There will be a diocesan Mass for the Canonisation of John Henry Newman at St George’s Cathedral on Sunday 27th October at 11.30 am. The Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop John. In addition, a relic of John Henry Newman will be available for people to see and venerate from Sunday 6th October until Sunday 27th.

PRISONS WEEK 13th – 19th October 2019 raises awareness and generates prayer which supports those trying to make a fresh start and those supporting that rehabilitation process. It motivates volunteers to step forward and give their time and gifts, in prisons and in their own communities. It provides an annual focus and reason for Christians to work together, building capacity and motivation to make a difference for people who are out of sight and often out of mind.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2019/20 the first meeting for parents is Saturday 19th October at 6.45pm in the Church.

CONFIRMATION 2019/20 first meeting with Parents and Confirmandi on Thursday 17th October at 8.00pm in the Church Hall.

RCIA  next  meeting on Wednesday 16th October at 7.30pm. All welcome.

FOOD BANK   J&P group are holding a collection for the Food Bank this weekend 12th/13th October.  You can help a family in your local area cope by buying just a little bit extra and donating it to the Family Food Bank. Items you can donate include: tinned meats and vegetables, rice and porridge oats.  UHT Long life milk, Instant Coffee (value brand) Sugar (1kg or 500g packets) Items for Baby Boxes : Nappies (especially size 4 and 5),   A full list  is in the porch.  A box will be placed in the porch on the week prior to the collection.

J&P QUIZ NIGHT on Saturday 19th October at 7pm in the Church hall. It is to support the Medaille Trust which helps trafficked victims. Teams of 6 – so make up a team with family and friends or come and join a table to make up a team. Cost is £3 per person. Bring your own snacks and refreshments.  We will also have a raffle. Tickets on sale after every Mass next weekend. You can also pay at the door. If you cannot come you may like to give a donation. RETURN OF THE CARMELITES Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop John at Aylesford Priory on 31st October, marking the 70th Anniversary of the Return of the Carmelites.

THANKYOU for all the used stamps that are collected in the box in the porch. Last year we were able to give £500 through selling these stamps to our local convent who have mission houses in Africa and El Salvador.
