Dear fellow parishioner, our local primary school St. Teresa’s provides a fantastic education to children, both Catholic and non-Catholic. My four children attended it. The management of the school includes a board of governors who help the head and other staff by acting as critical friends, providing the appropriate level of challenge, ensuring the promotion of Catholic vision and ethos, monitoring the educational and financial performance of the school, and assisting with admissions of pupils. The majority of governors must be practising Catholics who are appointed by the Archbishop of Southwark on the recommendation of the parish priest. Being a governor doesn’t require any expertise in education but does need commitment to catholic education and enthusiasm. The school is in need of a number of new governors. If you would like to learn more about how you can help please contact Fr. Peter or myself. Thank you.
